Medical Dictionary – The definition of Ventricular Aneurysm
Ventricular aneurysm occurs in the left ventricle’s wall mostly after the event of myocardial infarction. In this case, a segment of the myocardium is being replaced with scar tissue which expands to form the aneurysmal sac. The complication of ventricular aneurysm may include the formation of thrombosis which may lead to embolism or heart failure.
