Spleen can be found lying posteriorly to the 9th to 11th left ribs with a dimension of 3 x 5 x 7. Spleen is a lymphoid organ which involves in storage of platelet, filtration of the red blood cell,phagocytosis and production of opsonin which is an important defence mechanism against encapsulated organisms such as Streptococcus pneumonia, meningococcus, hemophilus influenza and E.coli.
