Growth Faltering
Growth faltering is defined as the drop in the weight curve by two major percentile channels from the rate established previously. There will be reduction in the weight for length below 5th percentile. WHO growth chart is considered in this cases for recording the growth for the infant and children.
The investigation requires may include full blood count as well as iron panel.
The treatment of growth faltering may include correction of nutrition deficiency such as iron and zinc. There should be an increase in the caloric food intake with structured meals with 3 meals per day.
