​Surgery Definition – What are the functions of the pancreas? 
The pancreas has an exocrine and endocrine function. The exocrine function of the pancreas involves the production of the pancreatic juice such as lipase, trypsin and amylase which aid the digestion process while the endocrine function of the pancreas involves in the production of the glucagon by the alpha cells and insulin via the beta cells form the islets of Langerhans in the tail of the pancreas.
