Surgery Definition – What are the symptoms and signs of Zollinger Ellison Syndrome?
Zollinger Ellison Syndrome may present with symptoms and signs as peptic ulcer disease such as epigastric pain, nausea, vomiting, malaena stool and hematemesis with higher incidence of multiple sites of ulceration and intractability. There is also a potential of gastric outlet obstruction. Zollinger Ellision syndrome may present as multiple ulcers outside the duodenal bulb or stomach. Zollinger Ellison Syndrome is investigated by considering the fasting serum gastrin level, pentagastrin secretion study, ultrasound scan and CT scan.
