Varicose veins occur due to the incompetent of the valves between the deep and superficial systems which cause the blood flow backward from the higher pressure to the superficial veins.​Varicose veins are also associated with occlusion of the venous system by pregnancy, deep vein thrombosis, pregnancy and pelvic tumor.
