Diverticular bleed is an erosion into the blood vessel of the wall of the bowel by an adjacent diverticulum. Diverticular bleed can be treated with conservative management. Patient will be resuscitated with intravenous fluid and consider bed rest. Large volume of blood lost may permit the need for transfusion of blood. Antibiotic is considered if patient present with signs of diverticulitis such as left iliac fossa pain and raised white cell count. If conservative management is no use, then consider angiography and embolization. The affected bowel alos may need to be resected.
