Ideal anesthetic agent should be the one which is fast onset, painless, pleasant to inhale, high potency, non toxic to others and minimal systemic effect. Besides that ideal anesthetic agent should be stable in light, non flammable, non explosive at room temperature, cheap, easily stored and long half life.
