Osteogenesis imperfecta is presented with multiple fractures of the bone which occur due to minimal trauma.It is best to avoid any trauma. Besides, fractures of the bones, Patient may also present with dental abnormalities, loss of hearing and blue sclerae.
Osteogenesis imperfecta is associated with deficiency of the synthesis of the type 1 collagen. Osteogenesis imperfecta is an autosomal dominant disorders. Type 1 collagen present in ears, eyes, teeth, skin and bones.
Osteogenesis imperfecta may present with trabeculae thinning with marked thinning of the cortex. The treatment of osteogenesis imperfecta may include pneumatic bracing.
