Keloid formation or proud flesh. is a form of scarring which extends beyond the edge of the wound which commonly affects certain anatomical region such as the deltoid and sternum as well as in dark skinned person It is difficult to treat keloid formation due to high recurrence rates and excision will lead to recurrence. The treatment includes steroid impregnation.
