The common bile duct will drain into the second part of the duodenum through the present of ampulla of Vater. Ampulla of Vater is a raised mound on the inner surface of the middle portion of the second part of the duodenum. The sphincter of Oddi will control the release of the bile into the duodenum via the ampulla. Gallbladder is supplied by the cystic artery, a brach of the right hepatic artery. Gallbladder produce mucus and biliary tree involves in the production of liver enzyme such as alkaline phosphatase. Gallbladder will also concentrate the bile produced by the liver.
