Chronic limb ischemia is classified based on the Fontaine classification which include stage I which is asymptomatic, stage II which present with intermittent claudication which limit lifestyle, stage III is rest pain and stage IV gangrene and ulceration. Patient in stage III and IV is having critical ischemia.
