Cat Scratch Disease
The differential diagnosis of cat scratch disease are lyme disease, leishmaniasis, coccidioidomycosis. toxoplasmosis, syphilis, sarcoidosis and lymphogranuloma venereum.
Patient may have contact history with kittens. Serological testing is considered.
The symptoms and signs of car scratch disease are malaise, fever, papules on the scratch site, tenderness of the node, the node suppurate and neurological symptoms.
Patient is treated with antibiotics such as azithromycin, rifampicin, ciprofloxacin and gentamicin.
