-aorta dilation
-valve ring dilation
-aortic dissection
-aortitis due to syphilis
-rheumatoid arthritis
-ankylosing spondylitis
-Reiter’s syndrome
-malignant hypertension
-damage to the valve leaflet or abnormalities of the valve leaflet due to rheumatic fever, trauma or infective endocarditis
-bicuspid aortic valve
-inflammatory bowel disease
-Ehlers- Danlos syndrome
-pseudoxanthoma elasticum
-osteogenesis imperfecta
