What is an ileal conduit?
Ileal conduct is usually used after cystectomy / excision of the bladder where a loop of ileum is used for urinary diversion. In this case, both of the ureters are anastomosed to one end of the loop and the other end is brought to the surface as a spout ( urostomy).
