Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
Fetal alcohol syndrome may present with symptoms and signs such as short palpebral fissures, thin vermillion upper lip, ptosis, flattened philtrum, withdrawal symptoms in newborn periods, microcephaly, growth deficiency, corpus callosum agenesis, dysplasia of the optic nerve and cardiac abnormalities with ventricular septal defect.
The complication of fetal alcohol syndrome may include neurocognitive or neurological disabilities.
The differential diagnosis of fetal alcohol syndrome are Noonan syndrome, Williams syndrome and fetal hydantoin syndrome.
