Head injury is managed after being detected clinically or based on the CT scan. The next treatments include intubation and ventilation. Maintaining the normal arterial carbon dioxide pressure (normocarbia). Prophylactic antibiotic is given for any cases of open or basal skull fractures. IV mannitol is given to reduce the intracranial pressure. Neurosurgical opinion is considered.
