Gallbladder is distended due to the present of the cancer of the head of the pancreas which obstructing the bile outflow which is known as Courvoisier’s law. Gallbladder is not distended due to impact of gallstone in the cystic duct because in this case cholelithiasis may lead to scaring of the gallbladder which prevent the distention of the gallbladder.
