Differential Diagnosis of chest pain / causes of chest pain are :
-musculoskeletal causes such as fractured ribs, Bornholm’s disease due to Coxsackie B virus infection.
-cardiac causes such as myocardial infarction, angina pectoris, aortic dissection, pericarditis, any bleeding into atheroma and rupture of thoracic aortic aneurysm.
-neurological causes such as nerve root compression and herpes zoster
-respiratory causes such as pneumothorax, pulmonary embolism, systemic lupus erythematosus
-gastrointestinal causes such as esophageal spasm, peptic ulcer, pancreatitis, hiatus hernia, reflux esophagitis
