CHARGE Syndrome
CHARGE syndrome consists of symptoms and signs such as coloboma or irregularly shaped pupil in the forms of key hole, congenital heart disease in the form of tetralogy of Fallot or aortic abnomalities ( life threatening condition), choanal atresia or nasal airway blockage, growth retardation,hypogenitalism, deafness with ear abnormalities and asymmetrical facial appearance.
CHARGE syndrome is an autosomal dominant or sporadic condition which affect the rostral neural crest cell structures which include impair development of the midbrain and the eyes.
The treatment include physical, occupational and speech therapies.
