Surgery Definition – What is Ganglion?
Ganglion is commonly found in the lining of the synovial joint, embryological remnants and tendon sheath. Ganglion appears in the wrist, flexor aspect of the fingers, dorsum of the foot or on the peritoneal tendon. Ganglion vary in sizes from 1-2cm and appears as cystic, subcutaneous with pea sized lump. The treatment may include excision for cosmetic purpose.
