Injection sclerotherapy is considered in patient with primary and secondary hemorrhoids. Injection sclerotherapy involves the injection of 5% phenol in almond oil or arachis oil into the mucosal lining of the hemorrhoids which lead to sclerosis and shrinkage. Precaution need to be taken while injecting the anterior hemorrhoids in men as it may affect the prostate gland and lead to prostatitis.
