Surgery Definition – How many ports should be considered?
The number of ports depends on the type of apparatus used. For diagnostic laparoscopy only one port is required and two or more port may be required in case of any surgical procedures. The types of operation determine the site where the port insertion is considered. The port sites can be closed with absorbable suture such as PDS in the linea alba or rectus sheath and Scarpa’s fascia.
