Pulmonary hypertension
Pulmonary hypertension may present with symptoms and signs such as systolic ejection murmur, chest pain, dyspnea , narrow splitting of second heart sound, cor pulmonale , right ventricular hypertrophy and thrombosis. Pulmonary hypertension may present with intimal fibrosis of the pulmonary arterioles, medial hypertrophy of pulmonary arterioles and diffuse pulmonary fibrosis.
There are two forms of pulmonary hypertension, primary hypertension and secondary pulmonary hypertension. Pulmonary hypertension affect women while the cause remain unknown.
Secondary pulmonary hypertension mostly occur due to left right shunt congenital heart disease, polycythemia, pulmonary embolism and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
The treatment of pulmonary hypertension is anti - thrombolytics and vasolidators agent.
