GINGIVITIS
1. Regular cleaning of teeth and gums every 3 to 6 months by a dental hygienist is recommended.
2. Brushing and flushing teeth with a water pick twice a day will often prevent this condition.
3. Chlorhexidine gluconate or Decapinol rinse bid.
4. Penicillin VK (Pen-Vee K): 250–500 mg qid or clindamycin 150– 300 mg qid (no more than 5 days or need coverage for anaerobes to prevent pseudomembranous colitis).
5. Refer to dentist.
