-obstructive sleep apnea 
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder
-severe asthma
-severe obesity
-traumatic flail chest
-muscular dystrophies
-Guillain - Barre syndrome
-severe kyphoscoliosis
-motor neuron disease
-acute porphyria
-poliomyelitis
-paralyzed of the diaphragm
