Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder can be diagnosed with Conners Rating Scale or Vanderbilt Parent / Teacher Rating Scale.
The common differential diagnosis of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are seizures, Tourette syndrome, sleep disorder, mania, hearing disorder, adjustment disorder, learning disorder and anxiety.
Patient may present with inattentive symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder such as distractibility, failure to follow the instruction, failure to listen, failure to maintain attention and intention, failure and difficulty to organize activity and task and forgetfulness.
Patient may also present with impulsive or hyperactive symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder such as interruption and intrusion on others, fidgetiness, difficulty engaging in activities, excessive running, excessive climbing, difficulty in remaining seated in class and excessive talking.
The treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are counseling, behavior modification technique,alpha agonist, antipsychotic and anti depressants.
