The causes of abdominal herniation may include any factors which lead to raised in the intra abdominal pressure such as chronic cough, ascites, pregnancy, constipation due to forcing of stool, retention of urine which lead to forced micturition, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, obesity, appendicectomy and wound factor which lead to incisional hernia.
