Autism may be presented as deficiency of the social responsiveness and interpersonal relationship. The other differential diagnosis of autism may include hearing and visual impair and metabolic disorder.
There will be stereotype behavior and ritualized repetition such as hand flopping and twirling as well as rigidity. Person with autism may find it difficult to mantain eye contact.
Abnormality in sleeping patterns and eating may occur.
Autism is associated with fragile X syndrome, tuberous sclerosis, rubella, phenylketonuria, and infantile spams.
Autism may require family support, special education classes, occupation therapy, sensory integration and pharmacotherapy such as mood stabilizer, antidepressant and psycho stimulant.
