Cold abscess is also known as tuberculous abscess which is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Patient with cold abscess may present with swelling in any part of the body but without any redness or pain. Normally cold abscess present in the neck due to the suppuration of the cervical lymph nodes. The treatment of cold abscess may focus on anti tuberculous drug therapy and incision and drainage. Cold abscess carries a risk of draining sinus.
