Group and cross match the blood (GXM) for blood transfusion, arterial blood gases for estimation of immediate hemoglobin or carboxyhemnoglobin and imaging techniques. Chest x ray is the most important measures and mandatory in traumatic patient. In pneumothorax, the chest x ray may reveal the loss of outer marking of the lung where 1 cm rim of lucency is estimated of 10 percent of the lung volume’s loss. Hemothorax, parenchymal injury and contusion may be presented with blunting of the costophrenic angel which implies the accumulation of blood in the pleural space (approximately 300 -400 ml blood). CT scan may also be considered.
