Complete rectal prolapse may present as cylindrical mass of the anus with a visible lumen which appear as a pit in the center of the circumferential folds of the mucosa which is bright red. Complete rectal prolapse may be reducible but can be difficult in case of edematous situation. Per rectum examination may reveal lax of anal tone.
