Surgery Definition - What is Euvolemic Hyponatremia?
Euvolemic hyponatremia occurs as a result of central nervous system abnormalities and due to SIADH. In euvolemic hyponatremia only sodium is loss with the blood volume remain constant. In this case, there will be hypo osmolarity. The treatment of euvolemic hyponatremia depends on the underlying factors such as in SIADH, the treatment may include normal saline and furosemide stat and this will be later followed with restriction of any fluid intake.
