Amblyopia
Amblyopia is a term used to describe reduction in the unilateral or bilateral vision as a result of unclear retinal image mostly due to impairment in the development of the visual cortex.
The common causes of amblyopia are cataracts, strabimus and refractive errors.
The treatment of amblyopia may include correcting the underlying factor such as cataract or patch the good eye to stimulate the visual system to process input from amblyopic eye.
Other treatments may include lens or filter to blur the good eye or considering cycloplegic eye drop.
