What is Hartmann’s Procedure?
Hartmann’s procedure consists of end colostomy and rectal stump. In this case, the proximal end of the colon is brought up as end colostomy and the distal end is stapled and dropped back into the peritoneal cavity. It may be reversible but it is difficult to revers due to the difficulty in finding the stump.
