1. Arch supports.
2. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as naproxen (Naprosyn) 500 mg bid–tid. Alternatively, may use other NSAIDs:
3. Quicker resolution may be achieved by injecting methylprednisolone acetate (Depo-Medrol) 20–40 mg and 1 cc of lidocaine 1–2% into point of maximum tenderness at the insertion of the plantar fascia into the heel.
4. Refer to orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist in persistent cases.
