PELVIC INFLAMMATORY DISEASE
1. Ceftriaxone (Rocephin): 250 mg IM followed by doxycycline (Vibramycin): 100 mg bid for 10 days.
2. Alternatively may give levofloxacin (Levaquin) 500 mg orally or IV daily and metronidazole 500 mg tid for 14 days.
3. Re-evaluate patient every 3 days during therapy.
4. Consult gynecologist if patient fails to respond or has a relapse.
