Differential diagnosis of cherry red spot / causes of cherry red spot are :
-carbon monoxide poisoning
-occlusion of central retinal artery due to embolism, thrombosis, spasm
-giant cell arteritis
-lysosomal storage disease such as Tay- Sachs disease, metachromatic leukodystrophy and Niemann Pick disease
