Differential Diagnosis of Right Upper Quadrant
Right Upper Quadrant Pain
The causes of right upper quadrant pain / the differential diagnosis of right upper quadrant pain :
-pathology of the liver such as hepatic carcinoma, hepatitis, subphrenic abscess, hepatic abscess, congestive cardiac failure ( hepatomegaly) and Budd Chiari Syndrome.
-appendicitis mostly in pregnant woman
-herpes zoster
-pathology of the gall bladder due to cholangitis, biliary colic and cholecystitis due to gallstone.
-colorectal carcinoma which affect the hepatic flexure.
-pain from surrounding areas such as epigastric pain, pulmonary infarction, pneumonia, loin pain and right iliac fossa pain.
