Full thickness burn is also known as third degree burn. The intensity of the pain is variable. The burn area may appear white or dull grey with eschar. The lesion is insensate to touch and there will be a leathery feeling to it. Full thickness burn requires surgical intervention which include excision of the eschar and considering the use of skin grafting or flap.
