Endometritis is an inflammation of the endometrium. There will be the present of macrophages, plasma cells and lymphocytes in the endometrium.Patient with endometritis may be divided into acute endometritis and chronic endometritis.
Acute endometritis may present due to infection by staphylococcus and streptococcus and traumatic injury after miscarriage and delivery. Chronic endometritis may present due to pelvic inflammatory disease, tuberculosis, granulomatous disease and post partum.
Patient may present with vaginal bleeding and discharge as well as abdominal pain. The common complication include infertility and salpingitis. The treatment will focus on the course of antibiotic.
