Surgery Definition – What are the causes of acute limb ischemia?
The causes of acute limb ischemia may include acute thrombosis such as popliteal aneurysm thrombosis, trauma and intra arterial injection, right sided causes such as venous clot from deep vein thrombosis which enter the circulation of the artery due to patent ductus arteriosus which is known as paradoxical embolus, tumor, thromboembolism, atrial fibrillation, myocardial infarction with formation of the clot on the dead muscle, infective endocarditis due to embolus of the infected vegetation at the valves and clotted stagnant blood in cardiomyopathy.
