The indication for renal replacement therapy are patient presented with history of hyperkalemia where potassium level is more than 6. 5mmol/ l, acidosis where the pH is lesser than 7.1, overload of fluid (refractory pulmonary edema) and patient present with symptomatic uremia when the urea level is more than 40 mmol/ l. Renal replacement therapy is also considered in the case of removal of toxic metabolites. Renal replacement therapy can be considered by peritoneal dialysis, intermittent hemodialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy.
