Ankyloglossia is characterized by tight lingular frenulum which prevent elevation and protrusion of tongue. Ankyloglossia is familial in condition.
There will be speech problem and dental problem later in life.
Ankyloglossia is also one of the part of palate abnormality.
Patient may need to be treated by referral to dentist or neonatologist for considering of clipping.
There will also be painful breastfeeding, inefficient latch and clicking.
