Cecal volvulus will account for 25% of volvulus. The causes of cecal volvulus is a poor fixation of cecum during previous surgery. The plain film may reveal grossly dilated cecum with a coffee bean sign while contrast study is considered if unsure. The treatment may include surgical approach performed in emergency. Cecopexy which consists of right hemicolectomy or right hemicolectomy with stoma if infarction present.
