Rolling hiatus hernia is also known as para esophageal hernia. Rolling hiatus hernia occurs when the stomach fundus herniates through the hiatus along the distal part of the esophagus. The gastro esophageal junction remains in the intra abdominal cavity. Rolling hiatus hernia is associated with fundal strangulation.
