Symptom Finder - Treatment of Acute Sinusitis
SINUSITIS, ACUTE
1. Culture and sensitivity of nasal discharge. Phenylephrine (Sudafed) 60 mg qid.
2. Amoxicillin + Clavulanate (Augmentin) 875/125 mg q8hrs until results of culture and sensitivity are back.
3.Alternative antibiotics
4. Phenylephrine (Neo-Synephrine) nasal spray: spray twice in each nostril q4hrs PRN for nasal blockage but no more than 3 days.
5. Consult otolaryngologist for irrigation of sinus.
