Butterfly Needle
Butterfly needle is useful for needle and syringe technique as well as the vacuum device technique.
Butterfly needle is known as butterfly due to its appearance as a short needle with pair of flexible wings on both sides of the needle. There will be a flexible long tubing which can be attached to the syringe or to the vacuum device.
Butterfly needle is easy to maneuver after the needle has penetrated the skin. Besides that butterfly needle can be fixed by pressing down the wings of the butterfly needles with non dominant thumbs.
Butterfly needle however carries risk of developing needle stick injury.
