Addisonian crisis is considered as an acute medical emergency as a result of lacking in the production of corticosteroid in the body due to diseases of the adrenal gland. Long term suppression of corticosteroid production due to steroid medication may also lead to Addisonian crisis as well as acute infection in patient with poor adrenal function. Addisonian crisis may present with hypotension, hypoglycemia and collapse and may lead to coma and death. The treatment of Addisonian’s crisis will focus on intravenous administration of steroids which later converted into oral treatment.
