Medical Dictionary – The definition of Accommodation
Accommodation is the change in the shape of the lens which affect the focus of the eyes. It presents with the relaxation of the ciliary muscle which lead to the suspensory ligaments attached to the ciliary body and hold the lens becoming stretched and lead to the flattening of the lens. The eyes will be able to focus on the distant object. To focus on the near distance object, the ciliary muscle will contract and the ligament ‘s tension is lowered and lead to the lens becoming rounder.
